They say if your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough and today, I'm feeling a bit of both! 💫👷🏼‍♀️ Today, the builders are here and building work has officially started on my new cake studio! This has been in the background since last summer when I applied for planning as I was outgrowing my home kitchen The timing felt perfect as my little boy started school in September and I moved from part time to full time hours and if I'd outgrown my kitchen while being part time there was no doubt I needed more space. Fun fact for those who don't know his initials are JVB which inspired my business name. The house is currently in chaos as everything from the garage moved indoors, including bakery items that were stored in boxes in the garage and my bakery fridge. Throwback to February 2024 when I delivered this cake that H & A designed to @templeof.fun The family of the nearlyweds who were due to get married, reached out asking if I could help create a small wedding cake, for two weeks later! Up to this point they hadn't planned to have a cake, and with a little help from family and myself we made it happen. This was completely designed by H&A and the fondant hearts were coloured taupe and burgundy to match their suits, crisp white fondant and gold fondant bow and matching gold pearls and star sprinkles to bring it to life. A fun and lovely design completely personal to them and I think the cake matched the design perfectly. The newlyweds were very impressed at how I'd brought their vision to life ❤️ Flavour - vanilla bean sponge filled with vanilla bean buttercream and raspberry conserve covered in white chocolate ganache underneath the fondant. Earlier this week my little giant turned 4, he's Bluey obsessed and all I've heard, for what feels like forever, is I'd like a Bluey cake Mama, when asked what flavour he wanted he was very clear it was chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream and raspberry but blue on the outside. Bluey and family were not my usual fondant characters due to booking a rather last minute and very large wedding exhibition the day after his party however as I love sugar modelling, one day when I find time, i'll give them a go. He was delighted and that smile when he saw it was one I won't forget.
